Boyfriend Charged with Murder After Girlfriend Found Fatally Shot in Apartment Bedroom

ALBANY, GEORGIA: A devastating incident occurred in Albany, Georgia, over the weekend, when a 19-year-old woman was found fatally shot in the face in her apartment bedroom. Her boyfriend, 21-year-old J'Shon Davyen Price, was arrested and charged with murder, aggravated assault, and possession of a firearm.
According to the Albany Police Department, officers responded to the Shoreham Apartments complex at approximately 12:11 a.m. on Saturday after receiving a report of a shooting. Upon arrival, they found Eboni Nicole Hood deceased inside the bedroom of her upstairs apartment from a gunshot wound to the face.
Price, who was at the scene, claimed that he accidentally shot his girlfriend. However, after conducting interviews and gathering evidence, investigators arrested Price and charged him with three counts: murder, aggravated assault - family violence, and possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime.
The motive behind the shooting is still unclear, but authorities indicate that the evidence suggests Price's actions were intentional. The couple had been living together at the apartment complex, and neighbors reported no prior incidents of violence or disturbances.
The management group at the apartment complex released a statement expressing their condolences to the families involved and calling the shooting an "isolated event" unrelated to gang activity. Price is currently being held at the Dougherty County Jail without bond. His next court appearance is scheduled for later this month. It is unclear if he has an attorney at this time.
