COLORADO: A shocking incident unfolded in Canon City, Colorado, on Wednesday, when a non-custodial mother, Ashley Proctor, 33, kidnapped her 4-year-old child during a supervised visit and led police on a dangerous high-speed chase.

According to Canon City Police, the Department of Human Services caseworker supervising the visit reported the incident, stating that Proctor assaulted them before fleeing with the child. Officers promptly responded and attempted to stop Proctor, but she refused to comply, leading them on a reckless pursuit through residential streets and US Highway 50.

The chase culminated when officers performed a PIT maneuver, pinning Proctor's vehicle against a hillside on Skyline Drive. Fortunately, all parties involved, including Proctor, the child, the caseworker, and a 9-month-old puppy in the vehicle, sustained only minor injuries.

The incident occurred shortly after the child's removal from Proctor's custody due to safety concerns. Proctor now faces an array of charges, including attempted murder, attempted assault, assault, kidnapping, child abuse, reckless endangerment, cruelty to animals, and multiple traffic offenses, totaling 17 counts.
