FLORIDA: A Florida man has been charged with attempted murder after allegedly running over a woman with his Jeep in a road rage incident, leaving her with severe injuries. According to police, Boris Twillman, 24, tailgated the woman, Jermeria Holycross, before hitting her rear bumper and then running her down with his vehicle when she got out to assess the damage.

Holycross suffered numerous severe injuries, including a broken pelvis and leg, a broken rib, multiple lacerations, scrapes, and burns on her skin. Her aunt, Misty Moore, said Holycross is also experiencing extraordinary psychological trauma. "I think the biggest thing that sticks out to her, that she just keeps saying, is he just smiled and laughed at me as he hit me. She is very traumatized and just has this image in her head," Moore said.

According to an arrest report, police said Twillman attempted to kill Holycross when he "intentionally hit the victim with his vehicle...pinning her against her vehicle...and dragging her along the driver side...causing her serious bodily injury." Twillman then left the scene of the crash and called the Largo Police Department, claiming he was not personally involved in the incident.

Police cameras showed Twillman's vehicle in the area of the crash, and witnesses described him stopping behind Holycross before hitting her. The timing of Twillman leaving his employer and being on surveillance cameras in the area of the crash is consistent with travel times taking that route without stops, police noted.

The Largo Police Department called Twillman's conduct "extremely dangerous and reckless." Holycross was in the car with her younger brother and her boyfriend's two toddlers, who witnessed the incident. The family has set up a GoFundMe to help pay for medical expenses.

Twillman was out on bail for felony aggravated battery, battery of a person 69 years or older, and aggravated assault charges tied to an incident in April. He was also facing charges of possession of a firearm during a commission of a felony and domestic battery by strangulation. Bond was set at $850,000 for the attempted murder charge and $125,000 for leaving the scene of a crash involving serious injury.
