CALIFORNIA: In a breakthrough in the case of the murder of 'General Hospital' actor Johnny Wactor, California authorities have announced the arrest of four suspects in connection with his shooting death. Robert Barceleau, Sergio Estrada, and Leonel Gutierrez, all 18, were linked to Wactor's murder after their fingerprints were recovered from a floor jack used in an attempt to steal the catalytic converter from Wactor's car.
According to law enforcement sources, the arrests came as part of an investigation into Florencia 13 gang members for catalytic converter thefts in the area. A fourth suspect, Frank Olano, 22, was arrested for being an accessory to the May 25 murder.
Wactor, 37, was fatally shot in the chest after he confronted a group of men attempting to steal the catalytic converter from his car outside Level 8 Night Club in Los Angeles, where he worked. The suspects fled the scene in a vehicle after the shooting.
The Los Angeles Police Department reported that Wactor was shot without provocation by one of the individuals. The arrests came as police executed a search warrant for Olano, leading to the apprehension of the four suspects.
The suspects are currently being held on a $2 million bond. The arrests bring a measure of closure to Wactor's family and friends, who have been seeking justice for his senseless murder.
