August 16, 2024
Police in Florida are seeking public help to locate a 27-year-old Jacksonville woman who has not been seen in days. Jessica Rapsys' car was discovered Tuesday at around 9:15 p.m., stuck on the railroad tracks in the Martin community of South Carolina. The vehicle was still warm but had been there for some time, according to Allendale County Sheriff James Freeman.
Freeman told NewsChannel 6 that the tracks where Rapsys' car was found are on private property at Creek Plantation. Her cell phone was found nearby, and the keys were still inside the car. On Wednesday, police used three helicopters and a local dog team in the search, conducting an aerial survey of the area around the vehicle for five and a half hours.
"The vehicle was stuck on the railroad tracks. We notified CSX, the railroad company, to halt all the trains coming through that area," Allendale County Sheriff's Department Chief Deputy Steven Robinson told Fox News Digital. Police added that Rapsys' car "had no one in or around it."
Rapsys is described as a white female who stands 5 feet, 6 inches tall, with blonde hair and brown eyes. Authorities are urging anyone with information to come forward, as they have very little details about her disappearance. "We have very little details as far as who, what, when, where and how," Robinson said.
Anyone with information is urged to contact the Allendale County Sheriff's Office at (803) 584-7067 or leave a tip with SLED through Crimestoppers at https://www.888crimesc.com You can also call 1-888-CRIMESC (1-888-274-6372).
