Ohio Woman Sentenced to Life for Killing Professor, Father of Two She Met on App

September 20, 2024

OHIO: A devastating crime has left a family shattered and a community in shock. Terreionna Paschal, 32, has been sentenced to 23 years to life in prison for the brutal murder of Todd Morgan, 41, a Cleveland State University professor and devoted father of two.

Todd Morgan's life was tragically cut short on April 19, 2023, when Paschal, whom he met on an app, shot him in the head and torso at his home. The two had only known each other for a limited time, and their sole meeting ended in senseless violence.

Morgan's mother, Sandy, delivered an emotional statement in court, seeking the maximum penalty. "Todd died for nothing," she said, addressing Paschal. "You took a father from two beautiful children. They were his world, and he was theirs."

Paschal pleaded guilty to aggravated murder with a gun specification and apologized to the family, saying, "I'm very sorry, and I hope that one day you can find it in your hearts to forgive me."

The investigation linked Paschal to the crime through phone records, DNA, ballistics, and eyewitness accounts. A person with long dark hair was seen fleeing the scene, matching Paschal's description.

Todd Morgan was an assistant professor of business at Cleveland State University, cherished by his students and colleagues. His obituary remembered him as a devoted father who "cherished his role with a steadfast commitment" to his children.

As Paschal begins her sentence, the Morgan family and community mourn the loss of an exceptional individual.
