Ohio Grandmother Pleads Guilty to Shooting 6-Month-Old Granddaughter in the Eye

September 19, 2024

FLORIDA: A 43-year-old Ohio woman, Harris, has pleaded guilty to shooting her six-month-old granddaughter in the eye. Thankfully, the baby survived the horrific incident that occurred in December. Harris was initially charged with intentionally shooting the infant, as well as assaulting other family members, but prosecutors dropped those additional charges as part of her guilty plea.

The shooting happened just before 2 a.m. on December 9, 2023. Harris fled the scene but was later arrested after witnesses identified her as the shooter. What's even more disturbing is that Harris allegedly caused serious physical harm to another victim by striking them in the face with her fist.

When questioned by police about the shooting, Harris showed no remorse, saying "That was not my grandbaby. Sorry, not sorry". Her sentencing is set for October 29, and she faces up to 15 years in prison.
