Texas Man Arrested for Allegedly Killing Nursing Student Who Feared Stalker

August 31, 2024

TEXAS: A devastating incident has unfolded in Houston, Texas, where a 21-year-old nursing student, Muna Pandey, was found dead in her apartment with multiple gunshot wounds. The suspect, 51-year-old Bobby Singh Shah, was arrested and charged with capital murder after being identified through footage from Pandey's security camera.

Pandey had installed the camera outside her front door a year ago due to concerns about a stalker. The camera captured footage of Shah, who was allegedly standing next to Pandey outside her apartment, holding a black pistol and forcing her inside.

According to the warrant, Pandey's friend last heard from her on Saturday, August 24, when she sent a video over Instagram. They had plans to go out with friends, but she never showed up. A neighbor reported hearing a loud thumping coming from Pandey's apartment around 8:30 p.m. that night.

Surveillance footage showed Shah leaving the apartment about an hour later, holding Pandey's purse. The apartment's leasing manager received an anonymous call on Monday, reporting Pandey's body. Responding officers found Pandey with multiple gunshot wounds, and her cellphone was missing.

A still image from Pandey's security camera was released to the public, leading to Shah's identification. He was recognized as a regular at a Houston restaurant where Pandey worked over a year ago and was also identified by a person who met him through a "Sugar Daddy" website in 2012.

Shah has been charged with capital murder, and the investigation is ongoing.
